DTN COMMENTS: A light trade is being reported in parts of the South this
morning at $138, compared to last week's weighted averages, that is steady in
Texas, but roughly $1 lower in Kansas. Other than a few scattered live bids
by a Regional the North remains very quiet with asking prices not established
as of yet. Packer inquiry should continue to improve as the day progresses.
Beef cutouts are expected to be lower with light to moderate box movement.
The Fed Cattle Exchange Auction held today reported 10 lots, totaling 1,628
head
of cattle, all listings were for Texas. Only 1 lot (265 head) sold at $138.
